In honor of Rod Hess, a former Wooter swimmer, captain, and coach, who passed away in 2013, the Gateway-Woodbury Swim Team will be holding a mile swim challenge. The challenge will take place on Wednesday, December 20th from 3:00-4:30 at the Woodbury YMCA. All swimmers will be taking donations for the challenge in the weeks leading up to the challenge and all proceeds will go to a scholarship fund in Rod Hess’s honor. The scholarship will be awarded each year to a senior swimmer who exhibits the spirit, passion, and enthusiasm that Rod always showed for the team.
A mile swim is 66 laps. Donations may be made per lap or as a flat donation. Donations can be made through any swimmer or through the Wooter Mile Swim Challenge GoFundMe Page.
